Forehead lift (Brow Lift—Transblepharoplasty brow lift)

The forehead lift is designed to correct or improve wrinkling, as well as the sagging of the eyebrow area that often occurs as part of the aging process. The procedure may also help to smooth horizontal expression lines in the forehead, smooth vertical frown lines between the eyebrows, and reduce the sagging appearance of the eyelids. Behind the hairline, incisions are placed above the ear and over the top of the head, although in some cases incisions may be made in front of the hairline. Forehead lifts are often (and usually should be) accompanied by repositioning the muscles of the forehead, which are partly responsible for the furrowed lines of the brow. The major downside of this procedure is that the hairline may be pulled farther back than desired.

Often referred to as a coronal forehead lift, this procedure involves an incision across the top of the head, running from ear to ear. Through this incision excess skin from the scalp is cut away as the muscles of the forehead are realigned and the fat pads repositioned. It is the most established cosmetic surgery technique available. Results can be impressive, with no visible scarring to be seen from any angle, though the major disadvantage is that your hairline can be raised by at least a half inch to an inch depending on the amount of correction needed.
