YOU JUST NEED A FEW TOOLS

The right tools create the right look You only need a couple of essentials. It’s how they’re made, not how much you’ve spent.

A GOOD BRUSH

A natural bristle like boar’s hair is worth the purchase. Animal bristles are like your hair. They’re porous, and help lift the natural oils from your scalp and spread them throughout your hair. In this way, your hair oils will be distributed throughout and will provide shine.

Choose a synthetic brush if your hair is very thick and tends to tangle. Synthetic bristles are usually made of nylon and are stronger, which makes them more effective at getting rid of knots and taming unruly hair.

If you have a lot of highlights, consider a metal brush to keep the shine. Metal brushes act like flatirons to seal the cuticle.

For smoothing, an oversized paddle brush is perfect. It helps hair fall smooth. A paddle brush is also good for drying long hair because it grabs many strands of hair at a time.

HAIR DRYER

Choose one that’s comfortable to hold, with enough heat to seal the cuticle. A hair dryer with 1875 watts is a good value. Different speeds are a good option.

Look for the "cool shot" feature. It’s a button that lets you blast your locks with cold air to seal the cuticle and get rid of frizz. It also helps boost shine.
