THE PERFECT PEDICURE

1. File nails straight across. You don’t want to risk ingrown toenails or weaken your nails.

2. Remove moisture by swiping rubbing alcohol over the nail bed.

3. Push back cuticles.

4. Prep with a base coat. Place tissues between toes to prevent smearing.

5. Apply polish starting with the smallest toe of the hand you don’t write with.

6. Apply two coats, waiting five minutes in between coats.

7. Wait five minutes more, and then apply topcoat.

8. Erase any mistakes with a cotton swab dipped in polish remover.

PLEASE DON’T j

Wear OPEN-TOED SHOES or SANDALS without manicured feet. Even if you like your nails natural, you still need a gloss over them to protect and strengthen them.

PEDICURE RULES

• Start with soft skin.

• Smoothe any and all ridges.

• Never apply lotion between toes because moisture there can lead to skin fungus.

• Don’t shave off calluses and corns with a razor. Just put a little muscle into your nail file.

• Always wait an hour before putting shoes back on.

MAKE YOUR PEDICURE LAST TWICE AS LONG

1 . Choose metallic or shimmery polishes. They contain minerals that adhere to the nail better and cause it to last much longer.

2. Brush on several thin coats rather than one thick layer.

3. Wait five minutes before applying the topcoat. If the polish hasn’t set, it will thin out and be more prone to chipping.
