LUGG AG E

Carry-on luggage, today more than ever, makes traveling so much easier. You only have to have experienced lost luggage once to want to keep your luggage with you. This is true even if you’re going to be traveling for several days.

While the accepted maximum height for a carry-on is twenty-two inches, each airline has its own size restrictions. Checking ahead is always a good idea.

FEATURES TO LOOK FOR

Details to look for in selecting a rolling carry-on bag include a sturdy handle and ball-bearing or in-line skate wheels.

Look for fabrics that are lightweight yet sturdy, ike nylon, canvas, or a sturdy polyester blend, and make sure the fabric has been coated to

repel moisture.

An added benefit is to choose a bag with a strap that enables you to piggyback another smaller bag on top.

Try to get a manufacturer’s warranty of at least three years.

Forget bags with multiple compartments. You’ll fit more in an empty box-style carrier.

KEEP YOUR LUGGAGE SAFE

Since most of the luggage sold is black, it can easily be confused with someone else’s, especially on the conveyer belt at the baggage claim. Try to choose a color that no one else has. And yes, the hot pink and green luggage colors are the ones usually on sale.

If you already own black luggage, identify it as yours with a colorful scarf or a bright ribbon.

Label your luggage inside and out. Be sure to include your destination address and phone number as well.
