Use sticky labels. They work faster than a skinny strip of tape.
Strip the paper off a storage bag tie and use the metal to thread through the buttonhole. Twist it at the back to stay put.
Grab some dental floss and pass it through
the hole where the button fell off, and through the buttonhole. Tie the ends together.
