Carmindy Vision:What I See

Khrystine reminds me of summertime. Beautiful skin with youthful freckles, amazing eyes, and what coloring!

Khrystine exudes natural sophistication. I chose a 5-minute face for her because she’s a busy business-woman as well as a world traveler. She needs to be able to jet off at a moment’s notice looking fresh, not fussy.

I smoothed on liquid foundation and set it with a dusting of powder. Next, I placed highlight under her brows, on the inside corners of her eyes, and on her cheekbones. I smudged chocolate brown pencil (the perfect contrast for her baby blues) along the upper lash line and a bit under the lower lash line. A healthy dose of mascara showed how her blonde lashes were really a mile long.

Playing into her warm coloring, a pop of peachy pink blush on the apples of her cheeks revealed how “wow” her cheekbones are. And a peachy pink lip gloss set off her inviting smile. Polished, pretty perfection!

Katherine, 50

HOMETOWN: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

When I was a child, total strangers would come up to my mother and say, “Oh, what a pretty little girl.” I remember that happening once when I was about eight. After accepting the compliment, my mother walked me down the street and said in no uncertain terms, “Just because you’re pretty doesn’t mean you’ll get everything.” From that moment on, I connected beauty with shame. Beauty wasn’t to be trusted, let alone counted on. I disassociated from my looks for the next forty-one years.

I believed my spirit was beautiful, but not my face, so I didn’t even attempt to play into my assets. Instead, I played the “jolly girl” role in my younger years. Even into my thirties and forties, men would hit on me, saying I was breathtaking, and I still didn’t believe it.

It’s only been in the past year or so that I’ve clicked back into my beauty. Now I own my features and love wearing makeup. If I could be reincarnated, I would want to come back with the same face. I’m gorgeous!
