When to have a Procedure

When should you do it? When should you start having Botox? Dermal fillers? A face-lift? IPL or laser resurfacing? Perhaps you’ve discussed this with your friends, especially when chatting about the people you know who have had procedures, or when you’re considering one. You know, those conversations where you pull your skin back from your jaw to your ear saying, Doesn’t that look better?

Inevitably someone in the group says you don’t need to do that, you look great. I always wonder what that means. Are you supposed to wait to have a procedure until one of your friends finally says to you: Your skin is hanging down around your neck and your wrinkles look like pleats in a drape; you look terrible! Go see a plastic surgeon now!

Of course not, because no one needs to get Botox or a face-lift, it’s a personal decision, a personal prerogative, based on what you want. Medical cosmetic corrective procedures are about wanting to look younger and choosing realistically how you want to accomplish that goal. Period. The choice is yours.
