You don’t have to join an expensive gym to get fit. Your main goal is to get moving!

You don’t need machines to do that. Don’t think of getting fit as expensive or time – consuming. Sometimes when you don’t feel like a full workout, just doing a few moves can really make a big difference.

Get some free weights. It’s all you need to start a strength-training regimen. Use them in the morning, evening, and during the day to keep you self-aware.

Buy a jump rope, or pull yours out of the basement. It’s great exercise, and even more fun if you can remember all the rhymes you jumped to as a kid. You’ll get your heart rate up and work the muscles in your upper and lower body, especially the stomach if you contract your abs while jumping.

Rent or buy some exercise videos. It’s like hav­ing a health club in the privacy of your own room.

Make your own ab roller by spreading out a beach towel. Lie down, and grab the ends of the towel behind your head for support.
