Although I am not a fan of false eyelashes (primarily because you can almost always tell that they’re fake), I realize that many makeup artists love to use them, and because they do, women wonder if they should try them, either to be doing the “proper thing” or for fun. Basically, false lashes are available in full sets or as individual lashes. Application always involves the use of an adhesive gel (such as Duo) and must be precise if you want the effect to look convincing. Removing false eyelashes can also be tricky, not to mention hazardous to your real lashes. Remember, there are lots of mascaras available that can come pretty close to giving a false-eyelash effect—you may want to experiment with these before ever considering falsies.
mascara mistakes to avoid
1. Do not wear colored mascara such as blue, purple, or green if you’re going for a classic daytime look.
2. Do not wear mascara that smears or flakes; don’t put up with those that do, because there are lots that don’t.
3. Do not use waterproof mascaras on a daily basis; they can be difficult to remove and hard on fragile eyelashes.
4. Do not overapply mascara; your lashes will look clumpy or like thick-barred windows.
