Problem: I have small lips. Any lipstick color I put on seems to make this more noticeable. What should I do?
Solution: The best way to deal with small lips is to not overline them to make them look larger. That technique of creating a new lip line works great in photographs, but in real life it looks like you missed your mouth. Also, to maintain the look, you have to diligently touch up your lipstick and use your pencil the moment any of the color wears off. What works best is lining just to the outside or edge of your true lip-line with a lip liner that matches your natural lip color as closely as possible. Do not wear dark lipstick, because dark colors applied to any surface make it look smaller. A true red or any vivid color will make your lips look bigger. Of course you can always consider a cosmetic corrective procedure such as collagen injections or other dermal fillers that enlarge lips, either temporarily (about 3 months to a year) or semipermanently (18 months to 3 years), or permanently (5 years or longer).
